At The Messy Mid we believe this stage doesn't only have to be about overwhelming change, but can also offer a chance for reorientation, growth, and living in realignment with who you are now.
We offer evidence-based, trauma-informed therapy designed to meet you exactly where you are. We provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgemental space to help you to make sense of the changes in your body, your relationships, and your world. Clinical Psychologist
Gillian is a Clinical Psychologist who holds a strong interest in supporting people through the many changes and challenges of midlife. She created The Messy Mid after noticing a gap in psychological support for people navigating this often challenging chapter. Too often, mental health care overlooks the powerful role that hormones play in shaping mood, sleep, energy, and overall wellbeing during these middle years.
Gillian recognised that many women and men in midlife were left feeling unseen and misunderstood when seeking help. The Messy Mid was born from her commitment to offering Clinical Psychology that not only draws on evidence-based therapies, but also acknowledges the complex hormonal, physical, and relational realities of life, providing care that truly fits this unique and often messy season.
